It has been a wonderful summer for climbers. Day after day of endless sunshine. The Good Husband returns with details of various climbs in the Smoke Bluffs at Squamish. How could you not love stories about climbs with names like Sally Five Fingers, Burgers and Fries, Jabbererwocky and Nubile Woman. The other day Lar returned with a different story, a story of chocolate cake.
His climbing buddy, Patrick a bachelor, related that when he was invited to friend’s houses for dinner he would take chocolate cake and bake it there. I thought – how wonderful to have the aroma of cake baking, then eating it fresh for dessert. And, how equally wonderful not to have to worry about dessert. Patrick mixes his dry ingredients at home, assembles and bakes the cake later.
Here is Patrick’s recipe. This chocolate cake recipe is easy to whip up. It does not require a mixer. It is the perfect quick to make recipe for those short of time. And, if you have never made a cake before this recipe is one you should try. So put on your climbing shoes and tip toe into my kitchen for CLIMBER’S CHOCOLATE CAKE. Just click on the name and start mixing.
